ANALISIS KETEPATAN KODE DIAGNOSIS PENYAKIT HIPERTENSI BERDASARKAN ICD-10 DI RUMAH SAKIT UMUM UNIVERSITAS MUHAMMADIYAH MALANG

Emergency, outpatient, and inpatient care are just some of the medical services
offered by a healthcare facility known as a hospital. A proper health information
recording system is needed to manage patient medical data and to improve the
quality of service. The World Health Organization (WHO) created the
International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems
Tenth Revision (ICD-10) system, which is used to code each diagnosis in medical
records. In this study, the University of Muhammadiyah Malang Hospital
evaluated the accuracy of ICD-10-based hypertension diagnostic codes.
Interviews and observations were used to collect data, which were then analyzed
descriptively. According to the data, 26% of hypertension diagnostic codes still
had errors, while 74% of them were correct. The ICD-10 coding errors of the
University of Muhammadiyah Malang Hospital were caused by the coder's
carelessness in evaluating or validating the diagnosis code, ensuring its
occupancy, and the implementation of SOPs that were not functioning or were not
carried out properly.
